Lake George Frankenpine

2008, 12 X 24 inches, oil on wooden panel.
This is the famed tree-tower that was coined “Frankenpine” to campaign against its intrusion. Underneath is a scene on the forest floor from Verplanck Colvin’s “Topographical Survey of the Adirondack Region, Third to Seventh Report, 1874–1879.” It depicts a powder flash appearing as a mysterious alchemical process.
